EMA3D Shielding Effectiveness of a Box Demo (4/6): Field Probe Creation
Introduction
In this section, we will create a field probe to capture the electric field inside the box. This involves defining and assigning material properties, followed by setting up a field probe.
Steps to Create a Field Probe

Navigate to Probes:
Go to the probes section and click on Field.

Select Boxed Region Probe:
This probe creates an array of points to capture the maximum, minimum, and mean electric fields inside the box.

Define Field Probe:
- Go to the properties panel and expand Bounds.
- Set the following dimensions:
- Minimum X: 540 millimeters
- Minimum Y: 1080 millimeters
- Minimum Z: -360 millimeters
- Maximum X: 840 millimeters
- Maximum Y: 1380 millimeters
- Maximum Z: -60 millimeters
- Keep the field type as Electric.

Finalize Probe Setup:
Click on the green checkmark to confirm. You will see green dots representing all the points within this field probe.

Manage Field Probe:
- Click on Field Probe 1 to highlight points in orange.
- Right-click for options to delete, edit, or rename the probe.
- If you choose to edit, make changes in the properties panel and click the green checkmark when done.

This completes the setup of the field probes. Now, we can proceed with the next steps in the analysis.
Now that we've defined and assigned the material properties, we need to create a field probe to capture the electric field inside the box. To do that, go to Probes and click on Field. Here, we'll use a boxed region probe.
This boxed region probe creates an array of points that are used to capture the maximum, minimum, and mean electric fields inside the box. Let's define our field probe. Go to the Properties panel and expand Bounds.
For minimum X, use 540 millimeters; for minimum Y, use 1080 millimeters; for minimum Z, use -360 millimeters. For maximum X, use 840; for maximum Y, use 1380; and for maximum Z, use - 60. Keep the field type as Electric. As you can see, we have the probe right inside the aperture.
Click on the green checkmark. Here, we can see the green dots, which are all the points within this field probe. If we click on Field Probe 1, these points will be highlighted in orange. And if we right-click on it, we have the option to delete it, edit it, or rename it.
So, if I click Edit, we have the Properties panel. Once we're done, click on the green checkmark. This completes setting up the probes. Now, we'll say, "We're all set, ourarustagiya 2005, and let's move on."
