How to Transfer a .res File from CFX to Ensight (Transient Solution)

Steps to Translate a .res File from CFX to Ensight

1. Open CFX in Standalone Mode

1. Launch CFX in standalone mode. You should see the main interface.
2. Click on the CFX Solver Manager.
3. A new window will appear. Navigate to Tools and select Export Results.

2. Select and Export the Results File

1. Select the results file you wish to translate into Ensight.
2. Ensure you choose the Ensight format.
3. Locate your results file in the results folder.
4. Choose the same path for both the .res file and the Ensight file, if possible.
5. Click on Export to complete the translation.
6. Click OK to confirm that all files for Ensight proposals are in the folder.

3. Open Ensight in Standalone Mode

1. Launch Ensight in standalone mode.
2. Select Open Other File.
3. Choose the file with the .case format from the folder you selected in the previous step.
4. Ensure the path is correct and click Load All Parts.

4. Verify the Imported Data

• Check that the case is uploaded successfully.
• Verify that the different time steps are loaded correctly.
