How to Add Surface Roughness in SIWave
This guide provides a step-by-step process for adding surface roughness in SIWave. Follow the instructions below to apply roughness to different surfaces and layers.
Steps to Add Surface Roughness
- Go to the Home tab.
- Select Layers and then Stack Up Editor.
- From the Stack Up Editor, you can choose to select:
- One surface
- One layer
- All metals
- If you want to select all metals, click on Metals.
- Click on Roughness to access the roughness options.
Setting Roughness Values
In the roughness options, you can specify different roughness values for various surfaces:
- Top Surface
- Bottom Surface
- Side Surfaces
For example, to set the roughness for the top surfaces:
- Enter 0.04 for the top surface.
- Enter 0.04 for the side roughness.
Once you have entered the desired values, click OK to apply them. This will apply the roughness to the selected layer, a process known as surface thinning.

If you encounter any issues or feel something is incorrect, please consult the documentation or contact Ozen Engineering, Inc. for support.
"2mins SIwave: Assign Surface Roughness" To add surface roughness in SIwave, follow these steps: 1. Go to Home. 2. Select Layers, then Stack Up Editor. 3. Select one surface, one layer, or all metals. 4. Click on Roughness. 5. Enter numbers for top, bottom, and side surfaces.
For example, enter 0.04 for the top surface and 0.04 for side roughness. 6. Click OK. The roughness will be applied to the selected layer, a process called surface thinning. Please note that there seems to be an issue with your "пам"...
