Overview

ANSYS Mechanical is an intuitive mechanical analysis tool that offers a rich library of Connection Technology options to simulate many different contact behaviors between faces and edges of solid and surface bodies (meshed with shell elements). There are a variety of advanced options available for dealing with a broad variety of issues at contact interfaces such as gaps, interference fits, dissimilar element types, gaskets and bolt pretension. Joint technology offers an effective alternative to traditional contact when applicable. Course Description This training course teaches students how to effectively use ANSYS Mechanical to utilize advanced features related to connection technology.

This course will enable you to achieve and understand simulation analysis with contact, giving you knowledge for preprocessing full solution and post-processing.

  • Advanced Diagnostics

Each course chapter is followed by “hands-on” workshops and exercises.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of the ANSYS Mechanical Basic Structural Nonlinearities course is required.
  • Students need a working knowledge of the procedures for performing a basic nonlinear static structural analysis in the Mechanical Environment.
  • General familiarity with the Workbench Project Page, Engineering Data and the Mechanical Interface is assumed.

Target Audience: Engineers and Designers

Teaching Method: Lectures and computer practical sessions to validate acquired knowledge. A training certificate is provided to all attendees who complete the course.
