What is the AnyBody Modeling
System?
AnyBodyTM is a
software system for simulating how the human body performs when
interacting with the environment. The AnyBody Modeling System
(AMS) can model smaller
or larger subsets of the musculoskeletal system (or the entire body)
and compute muscle forces, joint reactions, metabolism, mechanical
work, efficiency, as well as user-defined metrics. for given movements.
What Can AnyBody Model?
AnyBody doesn't just model the
body, but also the objects it interfaces with, making it a powerful
tool that can handle novel situations you may want to investigate.
From the seat and
crank mechanism of a bicycle, to the backrest and foot support of a
chair, to the steering wheel and gearshift of a car, the AMS is capable
of computationally resolving the interaction forces between the human
model and the environment.
How Can I Benefit From Using
AnyBody?
Any
property
of the AnyBody model is parametric, allowing users to take advantage of
previously developed models and being able to quickly adapt them to new
analyses. The AMS can be used for
optimization of
movement patterns, analysis of working movements and postures, can
easily scale to population or subject anthropometric data, and be a
powerful tool for virtrually assessing the exertion requirements of a
new product or process. With AnyBody, you can perform
computational assessments and quantitatively
investigate ergonomic consequences related to
changes in design parameters.
